Do I need a domain for a landing page

Yes,  you will need at least one domain name, but if you used a content management system Like WordPress,  you could build multiple landing pages from the one domain, and these could be all quite different, you don’t have to organise them with a menu.

This is one of the great strengths of using something like WordPress, you can build a blog, but you can also create many different landing pages which do not appear in the navigation menu.

WordPress has many uses, well beyond what a lot of people think about, it is a media publishing system, and so we can employ it to publish many different types of media, makes sense don’t you think

Do landing pages have separate domains from your website?

Landing pages can be hosted separately, but it makes much better sense for a content management system type website to produce their own landing pages and simply present them independently.

You can buy Saas type landing pages, I produce my own from my sites.

This is the great benefit of being a self hosted site owner. You can create infinite quantities of pages, for all kinds of purposes.

The landing page will have the same domain as your main site, this is also a great benefit of ‘Branding’. If you do not want the page to have the same domain, there are solutions for this, but branding is a principal benefit of your domain.

Back to basics: What is a Landing Page?

In the big world of digital marketing, a landing page is a stand-alone web page, created for marketing or advertising a specific campaign or event.

It’s where a visitor “lands” after they click on a link in an email, or ads from YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, Bing or similar kinds on the world wide web.

Other web pages like home page or service page in a website typically have many objectives and encourage the visitors to explore the website.

But landing pages are created with a single focus or objective in mind, known as a call-to-action (Aka CTA).

What is Call-To-Action (CTA)

A call-to-action, or CTA, is a marketing phrase referring to content, for Instance, a button or a web link meant to prompt users to do a clearly defined action.

It normally gives instructions or directives with action words such as “Register”, “sign-up”, “Purchase”, “follow”, “DownLoad” and so on and leading the prospect or the customer to the next step of a sales funnel or process.

The Classic Difference Between a Homepage and a Landing Page

Why do Marketers say “Landing Pages are so too good at converting”.? Technically, the most significant and notable difference is that homepage has heaps of links and a landing page has just one Link.

While the homepage has dozens of potential distractions, we could call them “leaks” instead of links however the landing page is super focused.

Having fewer links on your landing page increases conversions, as there are fewer interesting and links that are clickable that’ll carry visitors towards the call-to-action.

That’s why expert marketers always use a dedicated landing page as the destination of their traffic.

It’s obvious that much effort is made on the home page and indeed looks amazing.

The home page shows off the brand, allows people to explore a range of products, and offers additional info about the company and its values.

From here, a visitor can go anywhere— register read about page, read some blogs, review the terms of service Or visit Company’s Services, etc.

On the other hand, the landing page for the website serves a completely different purpose.

Paired with super slick ads that promote a single offer, everything about it works hard to turn these visitors into customers

It’s doing a better job to convert the traffic the brand’s already getting. That’s the power of landing pages!

Different Types of Landing page

Lead Generation Landing Pages:

These Lead Gen pages often use a form as their call-to-action.

This form almost always collects lead data, like the names and email addresses of visitors. New leads mostly come from lead-generating landing pages.

Lead generation pages are designed in such a way to collect the contact information of your web traffic.

This can come in the form of a name, email address, phone number or the company website, and so on.

Once you’ve collected your lead’s personal information, you can proactively market your offers/products/services to them.

Also, follow up with your new prospects until they are convinced of your business value and ready to make the purchase.

Click through Landing Pages:

A click-through page is often used as the middleman between your ad and e-commerce shopping cart.

Its purpose is to warm up visitors to your unique value proposition before sending them deeper into the marketing funnel.

Four Ways to Drive Traffic to Landing Pages

Paid Search TrafficBack to basics: All you need to know about landing page PPC

Paid search marketing offers businesses the opportunity to advertise within the sponsored listings of a search engine or a partner site by paying either each time their ad is clicked (Pay Per Click aka PPC) or less commonly, when their ad is displayed (CPM or cost per thousand) or when phone contact is generated, which is ‘Pay Per Call’.

Pay-per-click (PPC) is an advertising model that allows marketers/companies to place ads on an ad platform and pay the host of that platform every time their ad is clicked.

Paid Social Traffic

Running Paid ads on social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn one of the best ways to target people and communities who’ll be particularly interested in your brand, regardless of whether they’re in the market yet.

For instance, Instead of people searching for “Mini Cooper Car of the month club” you might advertise to people who’ve added “Mini Cooper” to their list of interests in their Facebook profile.

The best part of social media ads is that you can connect with customers before they even start to look for your product.

Email Campaigns

An email campaign is a coordinated set of individual email messages that are sent across to the existing or new customers with one specific purpose, such as download a report, Register for a free consultation, or make a purchase with a provided coupon.

Each email needs a well-written subject line, focused content, and a specific call-to-action to achieve the campaign’s goal. Email campaigns are mostly recommended to be sent via email service providers, like MailChimp or Hubspot.

A powerful combo of emails and landing pages can be used both to nurture existing relationships with customers and to acquire new ones.

After building a list of contacts, your carefully crafted email lets you, charm readers, with your offer, while the landing page fills in the details and brings web visitors towards a call-to-action.

Organic Search Traffic(SEO Search Engine Optimisation):

Organic traffic is the term used to describe visits to a website coming from a search engine’s organic results and not paid ads.

We get it! collecting organic traffic is hard. With all those PPC searches appearing above even the top organic result, putting effort into an organic search strategy can feel like a huge waste of time.

We’re here to tell you that it’s not. Organic search traffic is still a vital part of your digital strategy!

It’s the backbone of your Website. Your website needs organic visitors. Your business needs them, too.

“Focusing on quality [backlinks] over quantity is what can help to protect your site as Google updates.”— @AdamRiemer
